The IIHE Matrix Server is configured with the Element client however other clients are available.

Security

End to end encryption is client based so you need to export and backup your room encryption keys from at least one device otherwise there is a risk that you loose your keys to decrypt your messages.

Secure your room encryption key

  1. Connect to the IIHE Matrix server.
  2. Export your room encryption key with passphrase from the security menu.
  3. Save your exported key in a password manager.
  4. When connecting a new device import your room encryption key.

Using more than one client requires verification to ensure security, it is also recommended to verify other users in-person to prevent identity theft.
